RX 550 [MaxHash@LaviLev]

460-495+ H/s Stable

Initial Setup & Downloads [download all files to desktop for ease]
Fresh Copy of Windows 10 x64 [Preferred] when setting up any mining rig, especially if
you're going to use multiple GPU’s. [Fall Creators Update version 1709]
Setting up Windows 10 for mining
If you're using more than one card, start with the first card installed as the blockchain drivers are
a little quirky..

Download AMD Blockchain Driver for Windows 10
You could navigate to AMD’s Drivers & Support page to download the latest AMD Blockchain driver for
Windows 10. Please note that you must be logged on as Administrator, or have Administrator rights to
complete the installation of AMD Blockchain drivers. You could select the compatible driver version
according to your operating system.
The AMD Blockchain drivers download links are as below:

Lets Begin:
You should have setup up Windows 10 and your Bios settings for Mining.
One card should be currently installed and all files above downloaded, as each serve a purpose
for this to all work.
Once windows boots in run DDU
DDU: Run the DDU to remove all display drivers. [You do not have to be in safemode] after
reboot install blockchain drivers [if you are using more than one RX550 have only one card
installed currently].
If you are going to run multiple cards, before reboot goto START in windows, type “regedit” and
hit enter. Then click down to this location:
8002be10318}] In here will be the registry files for the graphics card. If you are using an Internal
Graphics Processor it will usually be labeled as [0000] the GPU should be [0001] you can verify
this by scrolling in the right side pane of information and looking in the line labeled
“DriverDescription”. Once verified that the card is the RX550 scroll down to the line
“EnableCrossfire” double click, and change the hex value to a zero and click OK. Do the same for
“EnableULPS”. Double check that the value has changed from 1 to 0. Do this for all cards after
they are installed.

BlockChain Drivers: Choose custom install> then ONLY check in “AMD Display Driver”> Install
[the other options are unnecessary and can possibly interfere] [Do Not Check Keep Up to Date]
Once installation is completed reboot if running only one card, if you plan on using multiple
GPU’s shutdown and install the rest of the cards. Once windows starts, give a few minutes to
make sure all the drivers install and load correctly. You can verify in Device Manager. Now you
can complete the “regedit” process.
Reboot and check “regedit” to make sure everything stuck.
GPUz: Run GPUz, if you have multiple cards give it a minute to load. You will use this to identify
the type of memory your card has and to save the initial copy of the Original/ Stock BIOS. I save
the file labeled as Brand_Model_Memory_STOCK.rom
Polaris Bios Editor: Run PBE, click Open Bios, select the *STOCK.rom you saved from GPUz, [if
you have all the same cards and same memory type you only have to do this once, otherwise
each stock file will need to be edited] press One Click Timing and SAVE bios with new filename

ATIWinFlash: I highly recommend using the Command prompt/ PowerShell method versus the
GUI interface, if you're using one card then the GUI is fine. But the GUI can only display the first 3
cards on the Rig.
[Note: in PowerShell/ CMD use the command “atiflash.exe -i” to identify the cards and their
location so you can execute the backp and or flash of the Stock/ Modded ROM’s; I personally
prefer PowerShell as you can just press tab after you type the first few letter of a Directory and or
File and it will fill the rest, also if flashing multiple cards that are the same, you can just hit the UP
arrow key and change the GPU # and flash]
Tutorial: https://anorak.tech/t/how-to-flash-a-amd-graphic-card-vbios/15
ATI Pixel Clock Patcher: Run the patch program, you should see the the word “Found”, click
Patch [give it a sec] it should then be successful and display confirmation.

Mining Setup & Overclocking
Double Check & Download: Open Device Manager and make sure are the cards are displayed
with no [!] exclamation marks. Run “regedit” make sure enable crossfire and enable UPLS is set to
Zero [0] and not One [1].
XMR-STAK All-in-one v2.2.0: this will run both AMD and Nvidia GPU’s including CPU mining.
Once installed and setup you will edit the “amd.txt” file so we can up the hashing power
Depending on how many cards you have it will look something like this:
[Index 0 is the first card and has the monitor plugged in, so the intensity is lowered for stability, Index 1 & 2
are standalone]
"gpu_threads_conf" : [
// gpu: gfx804 memory:1216
// compute units: 8
{ "index" : 0,
"intensity" : 386, "worksize" : 8,
"affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : true
{ "index" : 0,
"intensity" : 386, "worksize" : 8,
"affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : true
// gpu: gfx804 memory:1216
// compute units: 8
{ "index" : 1,
"intensity" : 400, "worksize" : 8,
"affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : true
{ "index" : 1,
"intensity" : 400, "worksize" : 8,
"affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : true
// gpu: gfx804 memory:1216
// compute units: 8
{ "index" : 2,
"intensity" : 400, "worksize" : 8,
"affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : true
{ "index" : 2,
"intensity" : 400, "worksize" : 8,
"affine_to_cpu" : false, "strided_index" : true

-Save & Close-

Now for the Overclocking……..

OverdriveNTool: Run OverdriveNTool.exe

● Target Temp: 67 *C
● Max Temp: 82 *C

Monitor Settings
● Core clock range: 1290-1340 MHz
● mV range: 950-1005 mV
● Mem Clock range: 1850-1875 MHz
● mV range: 875 mV
● Fan min: 1500 RPM
● Fan max: 3500 RPM
● Temp target: 67 *C
● Temp max: 82 *C

Happy Hashing……….

[Set It & Forget It: If needed i'll make up a guide showing how to automate this process if the
miner crashes/ reboots/ power loss or Hash rate drops the miner will restart on its own using JJ’s
Reset Tool and Hashrate Monitor]
