DANIEL RICCIARDO
Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo was recognised as Australia's
most marketable athlete in Gemba's 2017 'Asset Power' study,
which measures the awareness, likeability and engagement
potential of talent brands within the community. In the 2015
Grand Prix Drivers Association Survey, he was voted second most
popular driver on the F1 grid, and was the third most followed
driver on Twitter.
Daniel Ricciardo has been a revelation for Formula 1. 2014 was
his breakout season for Red Bull, finishing 3rd in the Drivers
Championship, winning three races along the way. He's since
notched up five career wins and 27 podiums which has pundits
declaring he will one day be crowned World Champion.
He has enormous resonance with fans around the world, and
particularly so in Australia. Following Ricciardo's breakout year, an
extra 10,000 tickets were sold for the Australian Grand Prix in
Melbourne to open the following season. His luminous smile and
grounded normality shine through in a sport where humility is less
often displayed by his rivals on the park.

W H AT T H E Y S A I D
"He's been super...we need 10 more Ricciardo's."
Bernie Ecclestone - CEO, Formula One Group
"Anyone who didn't rate Daniel Ricciardo their driver of 2014 wasn't
paying attention. The Australian set up camp in a team in which
every facet was cultivated around the strengths of quadruple
World Champion, Sebastian Vettel and frankly, blew his doors off!"
