Hope. Courage. Curiosity. Fear. Disappointment. Disbelief. Rage.
Love. Only a few of the many emotions coloring the last months of
an unusual American girl’s life. In 2003, the 23-year-old Rachel
Corrie was lead to Palestine by her profound sense of justice and
empathy. She was an innate activist, human rights fighter and an
outspoken peace seeker. Some say she was fearless, and humane.
Others claim that she was simply reckless and a trouble-maker. Yet
her story is not really about tunnels, politics and weaponsmuggling. She wanted to use her voice to raise questions and
prevent walls from being built, while she eventually discovered the
real world and herself. By her writings she opens a window to the
world of everyday people forced to live in warzones, constantly in
the fragile territory between life and death. And who without their
notion become heroes by caring, sharing and understanding. On
both sides of the border. Rachel saw the beauty of simplicity in
times when we all tend to forget about it.

Dora Endre and Stephanie June at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute

STEPHANIE JUNE (Rachel Corrie) is a German actor,
singer and vocal coach. She studied Musical Theatre and
Vocal Pedagogy at the Institute for Music in Osnabrück,
Germany and Method Acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre
and Film Institute in New York City. She has been active on
stage and in front of the camera for multiple years and has
embodied characters like Charlotte in Baby Talk by
Lund/Zaufke, Nellie in Jekyll & Hyde by Wildhorn/Bricusse
or Mrs Thistletwat in Avenue Q by Lopez/Marx and Helena
in A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare. Stephanie
feels a strong connection to the character of Rachel Corrie
and is therefore delighted to be able to perform Corrie’s
work on stage.
DORA ENDRE (Director) is a Hungarian screenwriter,
director and actor. She studied Media and Diplomacy at the
Metropolitan University, Budapest, where she became
fluent in three foreign languages. She continued with her
acting and filmmaking studies at the NYFA in New York and
Florence, and at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film
Institute in New York. Her scripts earned international
attention through the Cinequest Screenwriting Competition
in San José (short movie: Sonata for the White Marble
Statue Who Decided to Go for a Walk), the London
Independent Film Awards (short movie: Blind Passers), the
New York Film and Television Festival (Chimera). Her other
works included short movies, and music videos. She is
currently in pre-production for her newest project.
Last fall she directed her first play in New York, a Marshall
Hall Production’s The Motherf**ker with the Hat by Stephen
Adly Guirgis. Dora is excited to direct “My Name Is Rachel
Corrie” since she believes that Rachel Corrie’s passion and
sheer humanity must be remembered as a great example especially in a contemporary time reference.

SOUKEYNA NDIAYE (Stage Manager) has enjoyed being a
part of theater since grade school. Though not a fan of
spotlights she has a passion for stage managing and
costuming. In 2017 Soukeyna staged managed Marshall Hall
Production of The Motherf**ker with the Hat by Stephen
Adly Guirgis. Currently Soukeyna is studying environmental
science and sustainability. She has a passion for gardening
and exploring, and is excited to be back in the theater realm!
This is her second production at The Secret Theatre.

The voice of Tom Dale was played by Andrea Calachi
