LUXURY REAL ESTATE WEEKLY SEVEN MILE BEACH
MARCH 9, 2018 | ISSUE 14
All the news that’s “sniff” to print!
Hi everyone,
This week we will focus on a few topics; real estate investment as it relates to opportunities for Cayman residency, construction costs and believe it or not, China!
First some
news! Wuffie would like your support.
Her furry friends at PAWS will be holding their annual fundraising dinner tomorrow evening, March 10, at Grand Old House. For tickets, please call 916-1731.
Our last issue focused on investment risk in a heated market – no pun intended. We advise customers to
look for Quality, Value and Location when investing here in Cayman for protection against future disruptions.
One possible disrupter staring at Cayman could be rising construction costs. I met with a knowledgeable
source this week who believes construction costs could rise by as much as 10% in the coming months. Some
of the factors he pointed to were: 1. increased cost of steel framing, concrete, and drywall; 2. US Trade Policy and 3. strong demand for building materials from other islands (such as islands like Puerto Rico that were
devastated by last year’s storms). This presents both risks and opportunities for buyers and sellers – drop us
a line if you are interested in learning more.
China, yes China. Luxury Real Estate Weekly has been invited to represent the Cayman Islands at the 2018
Luxury Properties Showcase in Beijing and Shanghai. Wealthy Chinese buyers look to invest abroad in luxury
beachfront properties, as well as seek foreign citizenship – both of which the Cayman Islands can satisfy. We
are searching for one sponsor who would be interested in showcasing their properties in China.
Cayman Residency Law will be an upcoming topic on Wednesday, March 21 at 5:30 PM at the Residences
at Seafire. Luxury Real Estate Weekly will be presenting a free educational seminar about Cayman
Residency options sponsored by Provenance Properties Cayman Islands. Did you know that a real estate
buyer investing $US 2.4 million or more can be naturalized as a Cayman citizen, which can lead to
obtaining a UK passport? The event will also include a tour of the Residences at Seafire. Please drop me a
line if you are interested in attending. - Vince
P.S. A message from Wuffie: If you like our publication, please donate to the Cayman Islands Humane Society at www.caymangiftcertificates.com. Ruff...ruff!
