“If the foundations are destroyed,
what can the righteous do?”
(Psalms 11:3)

still feel like a young boy at heart, but I have already

reached fifty in age. Although I was only able to graduate from
a theological college and not a regular university, relying on
the teachings of the Holy Spirit and considering Jesus to be my
wisdom has led me to write more books than the number of
years I have lived. This one marks the fifty-eighth.
This is rare for me, but I am reminded of words from the
second book of the Analects of Confucius that I had heard from
a well-informed senior of mine.
At fifteen I set my mind upon learning; at thirty I took my place
in society; at forty I became free of doubts; at fifty I understood
Heaven’s Mandate; at sixty my ear was attuned; and at seventy I
could follow my heart’s desires without overstepping the bounds
of propriety.1

The Foundation

They say these words were the effusion of Confucius’
thoughts upon the deepening of his studies as he reflected
upon his life. These Confucian words became the etymological
roots of the following terms: Ji-hak(志學 – setting one’s mind
upon learning) meaning the age of fifteen, Yi-rip(而立 – to
establish one’s life) the age of thirty, Bul-hok(不惑 – to be
free of delusion) the age of forty, Ji-chun-myung(知天命 – to
understand the will of heaven) the age of fifty, Yi-sun(耳順 – to
be able to understand reasonably) the age of sixty, and Jongshim(從心– to not break customs) the age of seventy.
Although Confucius and I differ in that he pursued
‘learning’ and I ‘truth’, it amuses me to see the journeys of my
life from my early days as a seeker of truth to have so many
similarities with these Confucian words. I pray that as I trust
in the Lord, my remaining days will also follow suit spiritually.
By God’s grace, I am able to say with no trace of shame that
I understand the will of the heavens (God). I have thus written

many books. Though these works are for all the believers,
much of what I have written is geared toward the ministers in
the Church. When the Church Changes, the World Changes!;
Plumbline; Delusion; The Religious Reformation Has Not Yet
Ended!; The Conventional Viewpoint on Revelations in Need
of a Paradigm Shift; Are Elders and Church Councils Biblical?;

and Toward the Mark are all books that are crucial for
ministers. But I believe that this book you are holding in your
hands now is the most important of them all.
Throw all of your prejudice aside and read this book
with your mind as a blank slate! You will then immediately
understand just how wrongful the heretical accusations against
Great Faith Church are. You will also come to understand why
today’s churches are so impotent unlike the Early Churches,
why it is impossible for revival to arise despite the growth of
some churches, and why revivals are so fleeting when they do
happen. And you will learn how to raise a church like the Early

Churches, and how to bring about an unending revival upon
this land. Thus, I strongly recommend in the name of Jesus
for not just the churches of Korea, but all the ministers of this
generation to read this book!
