Dear Prospective Candidate,
Thank you for taking interest in becoming a Candidate in the upcoming WSSA Member
Association elections. As a prospective candidate, there are several dates that you should be
aware of. They are the following:
Nomination Period: March 14-21
Campaign Period: March 22-28
Polling Period: April 3-4
In the upcoming by-election, these are the executive positions open for election:
General Coordinator
Finance Coordinator
Community Outreach Coordinator
Event Coordinator
Mobilazation Coordinator
** Students may run for an executive position in addition to the councillor position.
As a prospective candidate, you must acquire a minimum of ten and maximum of twenty-five
signatures of reference from students in your department who support your nomination. Finally,
you must complete and return the nomination form no later than March 21 . You can contact the
CEO (sarv.ezat@gmail.com) and leave the nomination form with her if you have successfully
completed it before this time.
As a prospective candidate, your primary contact will be the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO).

Upon completion of the nomination form, you will be provided with a copy of ASFA’s Annex C
as well as the MA’s by-laws.

Through this nomination, I, the candidate, accept the rules and regulations of nominated
candidates and agree to adhere to these rules throughout the election process. Upon the
presentation of the nomination form, a copy of Annex C and the ASFA By-laws will be provided
for further clarification on such regulations. Should a candidate fail to adhere to these regulations
in the election process, the candidate will face reprimand from the Chief Electoral Officer, which
may include the disqualification of the candidate in question. Should the candidate have any
concerns regarding these regulations, they will bring forth their concerns to the Chief Electoral
Officer. Should a candidate wish to withdraw their nomination, the candidate will provide a
written request for withdrawal to the Chief Electoral Officer before the polling period begins. By

to the Chief Electoral Officer. Any student doing a Major, Honours, Specialization or Minor in
Women’s Studies is considered a reference.
