June, 2018 Club Minutes
As is our custom, Frank started the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
There was a good turnout. Around 30 people were there, including two guests.
The majority of the time was spent on club business.
VP Sue Chonoles shared her tips for the month, and shared more information on the club shirts.
Treasurer Laurie Haire gave the Treasurer’s report.
After the break, long-time member Paul Hamlin shared tips about hunting in the water.

The Hunt Finally Happened!
After being rained out in May, the hunt in Jupiter was rescheduled for June 10th. Twelve of us met Dave and Sue Chonoles in the parking
lot of Anything Batteries, and carpooled over to the hunt location. Once there, we fanned out on the beach.
It turned out to be a very clean beach. Very little trash was found, and just a handful of coins. We covered about a half-mile of beach.
There was a cut that started out at least 10 feet high, and gradually tapered down to just a foot or two. I think we all hit that section, but
the beach just wasn’t giving anything up that day.
We hunted the beach for a few hours before calling it a day. After the hunt, we met at Lighthouse Diner for some great food.
Unfortunately, the ones who worked so hard to put on this hunt were not able to join in the fun. Dave and Sue were dealing with some
issues with their house, so they could only get us to the location before they had to leave us.
Thank you Dave and Sue for your hard work putting on this hunt!

Club Secretary Needed
We are looking for someone to serve as Club Secretary. If you would like to serve in this capacity, please let the Board know.

Our speaker for June was Paul Hamlin
Paul shared some of his knowledge about water hunting with us during the meeting. Paul
is a long time member of the Gold Coast Treasure Club, and is one of our regular
participants in the Best Finds.
He has developed a number of techniques that have made him very successful
whenever he goes detecting. His presentation was very informative.
Thank you, Paul for sharing some of your knowledge with us.!
Here, he is showing off some of the bling he recently found.
