Due to its simplicity and ease of customization, the CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing
system is a popular tool in genetic screening. Recently, more and more literature
report that CRISPR-Cas9 is more effective, reliable, and specific than RNAi in gene
knockout experiments. Gene knockout screening utilizing CRISPR-Cas9 has been
widely used for target and gene identification in many research areas, such as
cancer development, drug resistance, immune response, bacterial toxin
susceptibility, etc.
