September, 2018 Club Minutes
Meeting opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Club welcomes Inigo as our newest member.
Birthday members in attendance were Tripp Cioci, Arnie Steiner, and Kathleen Franklin.
Vice President Sue Chonoles read an interesting article on Ghost Signals (Halo Effects) where targets seem to disappear during
recovery for her tip of the month.
Sue expressed the need for a volunteer to serve a club secretary.
Paul Hamlin offered his expertise on Ghost Signals with the reminder to take a couple more scoops as targets sometimes change
orientation masking them from your detector.
Bill Lake offered another tip on the use of household prescription bottles with cotton to store beach finds.
Club Members moved outside to test their target ID skills on 14 concealed targets of gold, coins, and trash items.
Arnie’s abilities reigned supreme earning him the prize correctly identifying nearly every item.
Paul stepped forward again to offer assistance with members having difficulty detecting, much less identifying a small gold chain. He
reminded members to reduce discrimination, slow down, and work smaller areas from different angles to get the items others pass up.
Tripp presented a letter expressing sincerest gratitude to the club for raising donated items delivered to Haiti.
The 50/50 winner was Ed Morin…congratulations Ed!
