Dear __________________,
Early dating relationships can leave a lasting impact on our identities. For the many young
people who experience relationship violence, these early encounters result in depression,
lowered self-worth, teen pregnancy, financial hardship, and even death.
Healthy dating relationships make for stronger, confident, more fulfilled and empathetic human
beings.
At the Katie Brown Educational Program our goal is to create a world where dating violence is
not tolerated. We’ve done this since 2001, with the help of generous contributions from donors
such as yourself.
The last decade has changed the landscape of what relationships look like. With the increase
use of social media and other technology, young people are navigating the intricacies of dating
relationships with people near and far, at much earlier ages. We simply cannot assume that
without programs such as KBEP, young people will have the skills necessary to avoid
relationship violence. Our community is facing a critical time in its future and there is no doubt
that your financial support is instrumental in the Katie Brown Educational Program’s mission to
promote respectful relationships through relationship violence prevention education.
Your financial contribution to KBEP will touch the lives of thousands. This year we have we
have educated well over 6,000 individuals at schools and in the community at large. What
began as a after school teen center has now evolved into a comprehensive curriculum that aids
students in grades 4-12. Additionally, we offer a host of seminars and webinars geared toward
adults in all walks of life- from concerned parents to leaders in the workplace addressing cultural
competencies and biases.
If you have donated in the past - thank you. We appreciate your support and ask that you
continue to help our young people by donating today. If you haven’t contributed before then
thank you for learning more about us and give today. By donating, any amount, to the Katie
Brown Educational Program you can feel confident in knowing that you are helping create a
safer world for our young people.
Your donation is helping to make our community healthier right now and for generations to
come.
Sincerely,
Claire Spaulding-McVicker
