announces a special event
for September 2019:

FRENCH-GERMAN CULTURE
AND HIKING WEEKEND
To commemorate the
beginning of the 2nd
World War in 1939 and to
celebrate the fall of the
"Berlin Wall" in 1989, we
invite our friends from
"Chti Randos" to Berlin.
From 13th to 15th September 2019

Together we
will visit
places of
remembrance, walk
along the Wall
Trail and celebrate European unification.

Schedule of the Hiking Weekend

Meeting point and
welcome is on
Friday, September
13, 01:00 p.m. at
the main station
(Hauptbahnhof),
exit
Washingtonplatz.

01:00 p.m.: Welcome of the guests from
Lille at the main station.
Afternoon: Guided tour (English) through
the former government quarter, visit
Brandenburg Gate, Holocaust Memorial and
other sites of remembrance.
Evening: Dinner together in a restaurant
with traditional German cuisine.

Morning to late afternoon: Hike in the
surroundings of Berlin with its many lakes
and forests (about 18 km). Lunch in a
restaurant during the tour.
Evening: Meeting and drinks with hiking
friends from Berlin in a gay bar in BerlinSchoeneberg.

Morning to early afternoon: Hike along
the Wall Trail. Feel free to leave the tour if
you need to catch your flight or train. At
the end of the tour there will be lunch in a
restaurant and a farewell drink. This ends
the official part of the Hiking Weekend.

Accomodation
The hiking friends of the GOC Berlin are pleased to
welcome you as guests. For at least 15 members of
Chti Randos we can offer Bed & Breakfast for free.
Please let us know by June 2019 how many people
would like to take advantage of our offer.
Registration by e-mail to info@gocberlin.de. Feel
free to book an accommodation of your own choice
in one of the countless hotels in Berlin.

Public Transport
For the 3-day stay in Berlin we
recommend the purchase of the
Berlin WelcomeCard (72 hours) for
28,90 €. The ticket is valid for all
means of public transport in Berlin
including Airport Tegel. The
WelcomeCard is available at all BVG
and S-Bahn ticket machines or can
be purchased online:

welcomecard.de/fr. For the hike on
Saturday we buy a cheap group
ticket.

Good to know ...
Just like Chti Randos in Lille, we also cultivate a relaxed and humorous relationship
with each other in Berlin.
Many of our hiking
friends speak English,
some also French. But
with 2 arms and 2 legs, a
little calmness and
(maybe) a few drinks in
the evening the
communication succeeds
in any case. Feel free to
wear casual clothes in
the evening. For the hike
on Saturday we
recommend hiking boots.

You want more from Berlin?

If you would like an extra night with B&B, please let us know with your registration.
We will try to accommodate your wishes. Berlin offers a wide range of tourist
attractions. If you are planning a longer stay: some of our hiking friends are happy to
show you Berlin outside the official program.
