"At a young age, I was not close to God,
thinking that participating in church
mass and other services would be too
time consuming. After high school, I
aspired to study dentistry, but was
unable to get into a course of study
beyond Biomedical Sciences. Health
ailments affected me, hindering me in
my studies. Yet, the influence of friends
and family, and visits to church in the
past two years provided immense
spiritual guidance and fulfillment. I
turned away from my past ways of
distancing myself from the Lord. I
embraced God and chose to let Him
lead the way. As the Bible says,
"Blessed is the man that trusteth in the
Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.” Just
a few months ago, a new door opened
for me, and I was accepted to study
Dental Surgery in Scotland. God was
waiting for me to understand that I
should not rely on my own, but instead,
rely on Him. He let me experience minor
setbacks to understand that He is
omnipotent [all-powerful], and He is the
“rock of ages, cleft for me.” In the past, I
solely depended on myself. Now I am a
new person, who puts his trust in
God and prays to Him, asking for His
protection, leadership, and
knowledge. I proclaim Jesus as my
Lord and Savior, and promise to serve
Him faithfully.”
