Red clawed Crab

The red-clawed crab is a terrestrial crab native to
East Asia. There is a population called Yama –
gani in Japan that lives on mountains 600 m
above sea level. Red clawed Crab will return to
freshwater to molt and lay eggs, but they spend
most of their time on land. But this is not
Kaiyodo’s first release of this species. They
released one in the original Chocoegg series and
then an adult and juvenile in the Capsule Q
Museum Japanese Crab Collection set. This
species was also made by Yujin Shrimps and
Crabs Collection and Wing Mau (Aquatic Museum).

The red-clawed crab usually has a carapace width of 5.0 cm making it 1.4:1 for a male or
1.5:1 for a female, so almost twice natural size. The maximum width of the red-clawed
crab takes up is 14.5 cm. The red-clawed crab is exquisite, especially the spines on the
legs. The color indicates the red-clawed crab is an adult. Juveniles are usually more
uniform white to yellow to orange.

Red clawed Crab : expensive one

The Revo Shapes are large, articulated, and expensive. They cannot be eaten. Red claw
crabs are very interesting to keep and very easy to buy, but unfortunately, there is still a
lot of misinformation about their care to be found in the aquarium. They are often kept
in freshwater community aquariums, but their ideal habitat is actually a single species
low-end brackish aquarium! Red claw crabs are naturally found in mangrove swamps in
Asia. In these estuaries, rivers flow into the sea, creating a mix of fresh and saltwater. The
water is quite shallow, temperatures are tropical and the ground is usually covered with
fine sand.

One of the best ways to figure out how to keep animal in captivity is to have a look at
what its natural habitat looks like. After all, Red clawed Crab has evolved to live there and
will benefit from a similar environment in our home! With a size of no more than around
4 inches i.e. around 10cm, red claw crabs stay smaller than some of the other crab
species available in aquarium stores or in any other places, which is why they’re
sometimes they are called as “mini crab”.
