Holiday Party
The 2019 Holiday Party was held on December 4. Pictures and other details will be in the
January newsletter. There was a lot of great food, and some pretty cool prizes. Thanks to
everyone who planned, cooked, and participated. It was a great time to eat good food and catch
up with members we don’t see at every meeting.
The 2019 Treasure Hunter of the Year trophy was awarded to Marco Tinajero.
We are back on our regular schedule, so our next meeting will be January 9, 2020, at 7:00PM

CLUB DUES ARE DUE IN JANUARY

Club dues are $35.00 for the year—January
through December—and are due this month. They
should be paid at the January meeting. Payment
can be by check or cash. Our out-of-town members can mail a check to the club in care of Laurie
Haire 9729 Whippoorwill Trail, Jupiter, FL 33478.
A $5 late fee will be incurred if your dues are not
paid by February.
November’s speaker was Paul Hamlin. Paul
is a long-time member, and an expert at
water hunting. Thank you, Paul, for sharing
some of your knowledge with us.

Also, if you would like to join the Federation of Metal Detector and Archaeological Clubs (FMDAC), the
cost is $5 per year. Laurie will collect this with
your club dues, and forward it to the FMDAC.
The first member to mention ’Equinox’ to Laurie will receive one free 50/50 ticket.

One of our luckiest members, Glenford Smith
made off with the 50/50 cash.

Gold Coast Treasure Club is on Facebook. We put the club page together to hopefully draw some attention to ourselves, and
perhaps attract some new members. Members can post messages, pictures of finds, or anything related to metal detecting. We’re also
using it as a way to keep the members informed of upcoming events. Just search for ‘Gold Coast Treasure Club’, and you will be taken to
the page. The page is open to all members and friends of the club.

John Lane was the lucky winner of the Silver Raffle. Congrats, John!

Marco Tinajero won the 2019 Treasure Hunter of the Year. Marco joined the
Gold Coast Treasure Club this year, and has been very active. He almost
always has an entry on the Best Finds tables. Congratulations Marco, and
thank you for setting the bar for next year’s competition. Second place was
last year’s Hunter of the Year, Arnie Steiner. Third place was Kevin Beane.
This award is based on points, so even if you don’t win, just having an item on
the table can get you points. Participation is the key.

The club shirts are available. If you haven’t gotten yours yet, see Laurie Haire at the next meeting. She has a few left, and
she can take orders. There are two styles of shirts available, a polo with or without a pocket, and a long sleeved UV rated s hirt.

Business card ads are $25 per year.
Classifieds are free to members, preferably metal detecting related, one ad per month.
More details available at the meeting.
