March Meeting
The March meeting has been moved
to Wednesday, March 11.

Our featured speaker for March is Guy
Bachmann. He will be speaking on the Florida
Seminole wars, which occurred in 1817-18, 183542, and 1855-58. Florida isn’t mentioned very
often as part of the early history of the United
States. It will be interesting to hear about these
times from Mr. Bachmann.

of the Loxahatchee Battlefield reenactment with a
crowd of about 2000. He is also an expert on Civil
War presentations. His lectures include old maps
and artifacts of the period.

Join us before the meeting at 5:15
for dinner.

This should be a very interesting meeting!

Meeting Minutes February, 2020
7:11 Pledge of Allegiance led by President Frank Nash
We had two visitors; Richard Walsh and John Decarion
Frank spoke of the possibility of a future hunt at the Boy Scout camp. Earlier hunts there turned up coins, buckles, and kerchief slides. He
will keep us posted on progress of planning a hunt there.
Vice President Randy Selnick shared his monthly tips. Recommended starting at home if you are new at detecting. Also, know local
ordinances, and use local libraries and online resources to research historical places and places people have gathered over time.
Buy an older local person a cup of coffee and listen to their stories about the town. They will have many stories about the area.
Tom Dankowski spoke on detecting historic sites. Thank you again, Dan, for speaking. Your presentation was amazing, as always.
Laurie Haire 50/50 drawing.
The meeting adjourned at 10:30.

Haven’t paid your dues yet? What are you waiting for? Dues paid
after this meeting will have an additional $5.00 late fee added.
So quit freeloading and pay your dues!

Tom Dankowski was our featured speaker at our February meeting.
Tom spoke on inland hunting, and shared a lot of stories about
hunting historically significant sites around Florida.
Tom is a wealth of information, and we are very fortunate to have
him as a member of Gold Coast Treasure Club.

The March meeting has been moved to Wednesday, March 11.
