Meeting Mintues April 2020
The meeting would have begun around 7:00, with Frank Nash leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Birthdays would have been recognized, and
the members would have been rewarded for making one more trip around the sun.
Vice President Randy Selnick would have shared some more tips with us. He has been working hard to put these together, and it will be
nice to hear from him again.
Other announcements would have been made at this point in the meeting.
Treasurer Laurie Haire would have presented the treasurer's report.
Since there was no meeting, there was no need for a featured speaker, probably saving the club some money in speaking fees.
The winning 50/50 ticket was not drawn, since there was no one there to claim the prize – or buy tickets – or draw the winning ticket.
Minutes were a complete fabrication by Jack Kazee.

General Update The parks are open, and it looks like the Palm Beach County beaches will be open soon, with restrictions in place, of
course. There is still a long way to go, but if everyone follows the direction of the CDC and our state and local authorities, our lives will get
back to normal sooner rather than later.
As long as we practice social distancing, we can still detect. This might be a good time to try some areas you may not have considered
before. There is a sidewalk that runs by a school near my house that I am planning to hunt sometime soon. When school is in, hundreds of
kids walk through there every day. There may be some goodies for me there.
I have detected my back yard twice so far. My goal is to clean all the metal junk out so I can set up a test bed. The most common things I’m
finding are old nails, screws, and roofing tin-tags from when they built the house 30+ years ago. There are also a bunch of triangularshaped metal rings from a trampoline that used to live in a corner of the yard. These things ring up like a bottle cap. The numbers jump
around a lot and the depth is never accurate. I will be glad when they’re all gone. I have also found a matchbox car, some coins, and a
quarter that has been broken in half.
So, stay safe, be creative in finding new places to hunt, and look out for one another.

Club shirts are still available. If you haven’t gotten yours yet, see Randy Selnick at the next meeting, whenever that might
be. There are still some left, and we can take orders. There are two styles; a polo with or without a pocket, and a long sleeved UV
rated shirt.
