THE ASCLEPIAN VOICE T he Asclepians’ summer started off with a bang as they traveled to Loguingot Island, Estancia, Iloilo, this March 29, 2014 to take part in the Medical, Dental, and Surgical Mission sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Bacolod and Iloilo City.
Cynthia Dela Cruz, WVSU folded as Asclepians Alumna and Era Templonuevo take part on its very of Eastern Basic Pharmacy.
So to prepare the newest batch of Asclepians for this seemingly simple but very important task, a circumcision seminar was held.
The UFI scholars, who benefited from the medical mission, were assessed, managed, and given proper health education and referrals by resident Asclepians Marielle Karina Barredo, Louise Cecille Del Rosario, Charles Jebb Juanitas, Raissa Ana Marie Juntado, Aizlynn Anne Robledo, and Mitz Serofia.
When asked what fuels her to go on with these activities, she replied, “We can only do so much but what it all boils down to is our genuine desire to serve and foster the spirit of service amongst us, Asclepians.” Aside from the OA resident members, Post-graduate Interns (PGIs) from the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center (BAMC) and students from the West Visayas State University – College of Medicine Class of 2017 (Excelsior) volunteered for the said event.
Sure enough next generations of Asclepians will be part of the journey of those man-to-be as they claim manhood the Filipino way.
As Asclepians we are called to go beyond the confines of the college and use whatever knowledge and skills that we have for the better of our fellow citizens who are in need of our help.
