TODAY’S MESSAGE
Dear Parishioners,
Last week we had our 8th grade graduation from the Catholic Academy of Sunnyvale. I have worked with this class,
especially for the last four months. I am extremely proud of what they have accomplished. I am sorry to see them go and my
prayers go with them. They are looking forward to celebrating the summer and then off to high school.
I am also looking forward to summer and my annual trip to minister with the Navajo Nation. I deeply appreciate those who
have helped out the poorest of the poor in the Navajo Nation by your donations. I have been asked how long will I be
accepting donations? I will continue to accept donations until I leave on July 6.
I will be offering a presentation on the Navajo, the land, the culture and the people on June 18 at 7:00pm in the Church for
anyone of you are interested. All are welcome. If any of you will be in the Four Corners area of Northern New Mexico during
July, let me know and I will give you a tour of the town of Shiprock, the Parish of Christ the King, and the Catholic Mission in
the Navajo Nation.

FUNDRAISING CONCERT
St. Joseph Cathedral Basilica is hosting a fundraising
concert featuring the Northwest Boychoir of Seattle on July
12th. Funds from the event will be used to restore the
historic stained glass windows of the Basilica.
The
windows date from the late 19th century; the majority of
them were fabricated in Bavaria and are irreplaceable.
Major restoration of the windows is necessary to preserve
them for future generations. The concert begins at 7:30pm
preceded at 6:00pm by a VIP reception in the cathedral
rectory. Tickets are available through the parish office
(408) 283-8100.

A REMINDER FROM
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
Our St. Vincent de Paul volunteers are continually
collecting NON-PERISHABLE food for the people in need
in the Sunnyvale area. The donated food can be placed
right outside of the St. Vincent de Paul office in the
vestibule of church. Suggestions of needed foods are
peanut butter, jam, cereal, canned meats, rice, packaged
mixes, etc.
