Milestone Active Management, LLC is the manager of select actively managed private
equity investments and of the emerging Milestone Active Management Fund. We are a
Family Office investor that partners with institutional investors to promote a unique
brand of private equity: truly active management in the lower mid markets.

Milestone was formed by RJ Valentine, a serial entrepreneur with 14 exits, each as a “C
level” operating manager, and Alan Braverman (KGSM ’91), a #1 ranked Wall Street
Journal analyst who also served as a senior operating manager including as president
at a division of General Electric. Milestone is further supported by a team of 8 other
senior operating managers acting as an Operating Executives Board who may join an
acquired company in a senior operating role. Milestone seeks to acquire control
positions and play deep operating roles in them consistent with their founders’
operating backgrounds and industries. The team’s 30+ years of experience and
operational involvement has delivered higher returns (over 30% IRR) and lower risk.
Milestone seeks to make investments in leading lower middle market companies. The
firm believes that its strategy in the lower mid-market is unusual to unique and also
that it is in this market segment that the most change and value-add can be created.
The firm targets companies that: operate in low to mildly competitive niches; that
demonstrate high and sustainable profit margins; with significant upside potential,
particularly with the addition of an upgraded management team. Industries include
but are not limited to: automobile related, financial services, business services,
manufacturing and chemicals. Financial parameters include revenue of between $20
and $100MM with EBITDA of between $3 and $15MM.
Milestone is the recent evolution and merger of Global Business Funding Group
www.globalbfg.com , a lower mid-market advisory and merchant banking operation
that RJ Valentine and Alan Braverman founded approximately five years ago, along with
its own family office investment efforts. The family office operation has not historically
listed or advertised its investment details. A recent transaction indicative of Milestone’s

Milestone has offices in the NYC/Princeton area and in Boston.
