tips on how to set
Any file created on the computer will be designated a time stamp. This time stamp refers to the
time when the file was created or saved. These time stamps can be displayed by just right clicking
on a file and selecting properties. This will exhibit the overall properties of the file. The third
grouping of items will show the three time stamps associated with the file: Date Created, Date
Modified, and Date Accessed. The date created stamp is as straightforward as it appears, that
was when the file was created. Additionally, date modified is equally as straightforward in that it
shows the last time the file was altered. Finally, the date accessed stamp displays the last time
the file was opened. These properties can also be displayed inside any file viewing program, such
as Windows Explorer. When viewing the contents of a folder in Windows Explorer, the features of
the files are presented to the right of the file name. These properties vary from Date Accessed to
Size. Right clicking on the heading of one of these characteristics will display a drop down of all
the characteristics to potentially be displayed. Here, it may be decided to display the date created,
date modified, and date accessed for a group of files.
While these properties may seem set in place, they may be altered if required. Reasons to alter
this information may simply be for document management. Perhaps many pictures were taken
over several vacations and they must be organized. By choosing the appropriate pictures,
identical time stamps can be applied to all files to allow for simple organization. Similarly, if you
have numerous documents that have been created and modified over a period of time, it is
possible to sync all the files together to reflect identical time stamps.
These time stamps can be changed within Microsoft Word 2013 directly but the process is
confusing. The first step is to first open the document and click the ‘File' tab. From here, click the
‘Info' tab which should be at the top of the list. At this point, search for the button to ‘Inspect
Document'. This will show a drop down menu. Pick ‘Inspect Document' once again. This will bring
up a checklist of possible properties to search for within the document. To alter the time stamp,
make sure that ‘Document Properties and Personal Information' is checked. Then, run the
document inspector. The results will show if personal information and document properties were
found. If so, click ‘Remove All' to remove any time stamp information and replace the ‘Date
Created', ‘Date Modified', and ‘Date Accessed' files with the current time. Unfortunately, the only
option is to change the stamps to the current time, so personalization is not an option.

http://www.hothotsoftware.com/filedatetimestampchangesoftware_software/ to search for ‘Change
File Date Time Software to Change the Filename Timestamp' will result in a program specifically
written to change time stamps with ease. Opening the program presents an ordinary user-friendly
interface. The first step to utilizing the software is to decide which files need the time stamp
changed. The beauty of this software is that an endless choice of files is possible. Through the
‘Add File(s)' button any file can be searched and added to the list. Below this feature are three
rows of fields. These are listed on the left as ‘Created', ‘Modified', and ‘Last Access'. These refer
to the three time stamp fields brought up previously. These fields allow the three time stamps to
be modified independently of one another. Every aspect of the time stamp can be specified, down
to the millisecond. After entering the desired time stamp for the file(s), just launch the program.
Even if numerous files were selected at the beginning, it can still be determined upon running the
program which files need to be changed. The user can choose to ‘Apply to selected file' or ‘Apply
to ALL files'.
