gmos and weight gain
Glyphosate,is the active ingredient in Roundup®, the main herbicide used all over the world. The
chemical companies that make Roundup assure us that it is minimally toxic to humans, however,
many scientists and experts alike disagree. Traces of Roundup are found in many of the foods we
eat. Sugar, corn, soy, wheat as well as fruits and vegetables. Glyphosate enhances the damaging
effects of other food borne chemical residues and environmental toxins. It is a slow process,
building toxic load in the body over time. Because it is slow and subtle, many people suffering
from the build up of toxins, may not realize it is what they are eating. It is a pretty sad day when
our food is making us sick, just so large corporations can make a profit. Inflammation is a big
problem. Again it can manifest itself in so many different ways that a person can go undiagnosed
for years, and still never realize their food is slowly killing them. Our gut bacteria,is being
imbalanced, and our bad gut bacteria is higher than our good gut bacteria.
Leaky Gut Syndrome, is another culprit of glyphosate, it makes tiny holes in the gut, allowing
stomach contents into the body, which can cause many different problems. It also changes the
chemical balance in the body, which can cause weight gain, as well as many other problems.
MS and Leaky Gut Syndrome
Glyphosates also lower tryptophan levels. Tryptophan is used to make serotonin in the body.
Serotonin is responsible for feeling happy, as well as giving us energy, and also signals the brain
that we are full, so this one imbalance alone can contribute to obesity.
Tryptophan serotonin
Glyphosates impares liver function. This makes the problem even worse, as the liver is
responsible for filtering out toxins, so the toxic load remains even greater.
Our serum sulfate transport is also being compromised.
Here is just a few disorders and diseases that can be associated with toxic amounts of
glyphosate.
Obesity
Diabetes
IBS
Heart disease
Gastrointestinal disorders
Alzheimer's disease
Depression
Autism
Infertility
Cancer
Because in North America, glyphosate is used so readily, it is hard to do obesity studies long-

term, but in other countries, such as South Africa, it can be argued that they have the highest
obesity rate in Africa. Ironically they are the most heavily glyphosate users in Africa.
It is no secret that we have hundreds of diet and weight loss products and supplements now, that
did not exist in the multitudes it does now in the 70s.
Diet soda, diet foods, artificial sugars and preservatives, genetically modified crops, glyphosates
are all products of newer science. Before 1970, people ate real food, and fewer synthetic food like
products, and obesity was far less predominate.
