For the times you said that you couldn’t,
well you’re doing it now.
Foreword
exulansis
n. the tendency to give up trying to talk
about an experience because people are
unable to relate to it—whether through
envy or pity or simple foreignness—
which allows it to drift away from the
rest of your life story, until the memory
itself feels out of place, almost mythical,
wandering restlessly in the fog, no longer
even looking for a place to land.
-The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows
The first issue of Fartworks, the author- with the counsel of his dear friendsdecides to name the volume’”Exulansis’. A word which revolves around the
viewpoint of many- that is kept hidden
within the confines behind the walls
of dreams and the inner conscience.
In this anthology, not only stories could
tell the mien of each paragraph. But every
brushstroke and shutter capture bring a
shine to the surface of what the author and
contributors felt in their lives and messages.
Message
If one day you’d wake up on a raft, lost at sea,
with only a pen and a few sheets of paper as company, would you still write?
Or will you allow yourself to drift away, further in the ocean and deeper in your own sanity?
For the lonely hours where we think of the
things that might seem insignificant, others held
them dearly.
For the times you wait in line, or see the sun
fade, and realize that no one was near.
For when no words can explain the feeling of
how vivid to project the psychedelia.
While there are numerous experiences the
world can muster, stories found here are but a
small fraction of it. The unsaid, and the forgotten.
The words and pictures that struggle to
be heard, trying to escape the compounds of
self-doubt and worth, are but small pieces of a
dream that others might not want to be realized.
For what is a dream, if not a reflection of
your own heart?
