Dear Diary,

March 1923
Ever since I joined the flapper movement, I felt like a new woman.
Women, have been oppressed so much that household chores
and pleasing men is all that we are meant for, but now, I feel, we
are going to be equals. We have a say, a that is heard. Too long
have we been suppressed by men who think they know what's
right for us, too long have we been told what to do and what not
to do just for men! Women must take politics by storm and
demand women's suffrage!. We, women, must take a stand and
discard the society we live in today. All my life I have been taught
how to make a man feel happy, but never myself. I have made a
decision and that is, to discard the corset, and to adopt the
flapper livery. I wish not to be looked at by men just as an object. I
too am a person. No longer will our roles in society be determined
the day we are born. No longer will it be a patriarchy, it will now
be a meritocracy!
