Introduction
GT Nexus is proud to introduce a cleaner, easier navigation across the system. This upgrade will become the
standard navigation for all users. Once you dive in, you’ll find it provides quick access to all items that you need.
The navigation is customized to fit the needs of each user. It supports access to all existing navigation items and
provides access from any GT Nexus page. Easy to use. Customized. User friendly. This is the first in a series of UI
upgrades and enhancements on the way. Expect much more as the Infor DNA of delivering beautiful software
makes its way into the GT Nexus platform.

Business Need

Provide quick access to all GT Nexus applications and utilities.
Offer a consistent user experience across all navigation items.
Maximize screen area for content.

Solution

Anchor navigation to the top of all application pages. Never alter the user experience.
Minimize the amount of real estate used by the navigation—saved that for the application.
The upgraded navigation offers all the same items as its predecessor. If a menu item existed in the legacy
navigation, it should exist in the upgraded navigation.

Concepts, Illustrated

Use the Main Menu to navigate to different areas of the Platform, access resources, create transaction
documents, run reports, and explore system tools that assist you to better use the platform. Users can
access all GT Nexus Menu Options from all GT Nexus pages.

Navigation is anchored to the top of all
pages. It is always accessible for
navigation to any menu item.

Large lists of menu items are categorized.
If you have fewer menu items, they may
be displayed without categories.

Use the Find Menu Items box as an alternate way to
navigate to objects.
For quick access to a navigation item, start typing its
name. For multi-word items, type the first
character(s) of each word. Examples:

Current Availability – All Customers
Discuss with your system administrator. Administrators may upgrade the navigation with an org preference. If
necessary, the administrator can contact Support. Administrator instructions are as follows:
1.

Set the org preference. Update the following entry. To upgrade the navigation for your entire
organization, set this preference to “2”. To allow users to choose the navigation upgrade on their own,
set this preference to “1”. You may set this preference to “0” (disable the upgrade), but this is the same
as default behavior.

2.

If the org preference is set for the entire organization, all users will (upon new login) receive the
navigation upgrade. If the org preference is set by user, each user must enable the navigation. Instruct
users to visit the Display Settings, enable Menu based navigation, and re-login.

Availability, Post Release 16.2.0
On 4 April 2016, all users receive the navigation upgrade. This marks the beginning of the navigation “opt-out
period”. During this period, users may opt out of the upgrade and continue to use the legacy navigation.

How do I opt out?
Under the user icon, select REVERT TO LEGACY NAVIGATION. The system presents a confirmation
screen. Select REVERT TO LEGACY NAVIGATION to opt out. Select CANCEL to retain the navigation
upgrade. GT Nexus will communicate a date marking the end of the opt-out period. That date will be
noted in the confirmation.

Why does the system present the upgraded navigation again after a few days?
We encourage you to take another look and get accustomed with the upgraded navigation. Eventually,
only the upgraded navigation will be available. Each time we upgrade your navigation, spend time
using it.

Can I upgrade the navigation, even once I have opted out?
Absolutely. Once you opt out, there's always a link to Upgrade Navigation at the top of your page.

Which browsers are supported?
GT Nexus certifies and supports only the latest (generally available) version of Internet Explorer, Firefox,
and Chrome. See G2 for a more detailed support statement. Older versions of Internet Explorer will
deliver reduced navigation functionality:

Icons appear as text or are less complex.
No support for background color.
No guided navigation help.
Each tab, when opened, expands to full screen width.
