[Kage’çon: Younger brother],
what has made you [shin:
fat]?
[Zhinthe’ho: Elder brother],
I lie down in the way of
those who haul [wamu’çke
çkithe: cookies], and I pretend to be [t’e: dead].
When they throw me into the [zhonmonthin:
wagon], I lie there kicking the [wamu’çke
çkithe: cookies] out. Then I leap out and start
[ti gthe: home] eating.
It is the [wamu’çke çkithe: cookies] which
have made me [shin: fat].

Then [Mi’kaçi: Coyote] went to the place and
lay down in the uhe: path.
When the [waxe: white man] came along,
he threw [Mi’kaçi: Coyote]
[paç’inithe: head first] into
the [zhonmonthin: wagon].
[Zhinthe’ho: elder brother], I wish you to do
like-wise. You, [Zhinthe’ho: elder brother],
have large [çi: feet]. I think you will knock
out a great many [wamu’çke çkithe: cookies].

Having put [Mi’kaçi: Coyote] in the [zhonmonthin: wagon], the [waxe: white man] went to
2 his [ti gthe: home].
The [waxe: white man] thought that [Mi’kaçi: Coyote]
was [t’e: dead], so he threw [Mi’kaçi: Coyote] out by a
miserable [ti zhinga: outhouse].
The [waxe: white man] took a [monhi’: knife] When [Mi’kaçi: Coyote] got [uthi xthaxtha:
and cut the [ha’zhinga: rope] which bound the loose], he ran [eta thishonagthe: homeward].
[çi: feet] of [Mi’kaçi: Coyote]. Then the [waxe:
white man] left and went into the [ti: house].

[Mi’kaçi: Coyote] went back to [çaba zhi waxa: attack] [Ma’zhon: Gray Fox].
0, [Kage’çon: Younger brother],
you have made me
[ithi’hide thinge: miserable].
You-yourself, are to
[a’gthai: blame!]
Be [xthia zhi: silent]
and [gi: come] to me!
You brought the trouble
on yourself when you lay
down in the place where
the [waxe: white man]
came with the [wamu’çke
çkithe: cookies].

0 [Kage’çon: Younger brother],
