APRIL MEETING MINUTES
Our April meeting was held with a huge out pouring of
donations for the Silent Auction from the membership!
Thanks to everyone for your wonderful support! In the
hustle and bustle we had so many donations that I lost
count! I know I missed some great buys and so probably a
lot of us did! But I did come home with some really nice
items. For instance, drawer knobs at a really great bargain
price for my new bath and Braun Electric Toothbrushes
for my grandchildren.
Forty two members participated, some had to leave
early but we ended up with a GRAND Total Income of
$794 added to the Treasury! Without your support and
joint effort we would not have exceeded! Again, thanks
go to all who attended and supported the club’s effort!
President McNew spoke of our NEW LOCATION
FOR THE MONTH OF MAY – THE SCIENCE
CENTER ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE
PRESENT LOCATION!
Jim Sharp won the 50/50 Raffle and took home
$62.00! Everyone was fooled by Mindy Spiroch with a
tiny battery! A Big Thank You goes to Nick Mosca and
Ed D’Amato for greeting the guest and members at the
front desk.
Nick Mosca showed a 3 troy ounce .99 percent pure
gold piece. He collected scrapings and pieces left over
from his work and it took about 2 years. Tom Lieberman
indicated to the best of his knowledge that Tallahassee is
not showing all of the artifacts that have been collected by
the state, Gary McNew reported that he has lost 30
pounds of weight in six weeks, good work Gary!
Only one guest, Jenna Lee, was in attendance. She was
the guest of Allan Schwartz. Allen gets one point
towards the possible winning of a free membership for
2014 or a Silver Dollar.
Respectively Submitted Jan Smirnow, Secretary

Our club collects eye glasses, foreign coins,
miscellaneous items of costume jewelry/tokens/metal toys,
pull tabs, and empty ink cartridges. Give Jan Smirnow or
Linda Bennett your donations.

WHAT TO DO WITH THOSE FINDS
Cindy Moran showed her bracelet made from pulltabs
that she purchased in Puerto Rico. She paid $35 for it but
most of it goes to Charity. See the website listed below
for these interesting pieces of jewelry that are Handcraft

CHALLENGE LEVELS
Do you enjoy a good challenge? If so, then you should
join the quest to master the five challenge levels! This fun
program offers a coin reward simply for finding a specific
group of targets (much like a scavenger hunt) and showing
those finds to the hunt master (Linda Bennett). You can
find information about the challenge levels in your new
member folder or at club meetings. For questions or
explanations, come early to a meeting and speak with
Linda.
