There are many ways blood testing can help doctors, therefore they use blood
test reports as their main source of information before they provide assessment,
medications and treatments.

Below mentioned are specific reasons
for which blood tests are used for:


To assess how well organs are working, such as liver, heart, thyroid and kidney



Diagnose conditions and diseases like diabetes, anemia, HIV / AIDS, coronary
heart diseases and cancer



Check whether the patient has any risks for heart ailments



To assess whether the current medication being taken is effective



To know how well the patient’s blood is clotting

Blood testing is nothing but usual on routine check-ups, doctors may order
different types of blood testing to check how the patient’s body is working.
Most of the blood tests do not require special preparations. Yet, for others
fasting or not eating any food for specific hours given, usually eight to twelve
hours, is recommended. Doctors will give special instructions to patients on what
they need to do before the actual test, to ensure accurate results.

The Procedure of Blood Tests


During the test, sample blood will be taken from the patient’s body. It is most
of the time drawn in the arm or can be at the back of the patient’s elbow
using needles. Finger pricking is another way to extract blood from patient.

like infections, clotting problems, anemia, disorder in immune system and blood
cancers.

they order the type of test they need before providing verdict and treatments.
