Paterson Habitat for
Paterson Habitat taps into
the strength of its corporate
partners to address one of
the toughest problems of our
time, the lack of affordable housing for hard
working, lower income families.
We operate as a partnership with families to
build their homes. This spirit inspires many
businesses to partner with Paterson Habitat in
building simple, quality affordable homes
working side by side with homeowner families.
One of the greatest rewards of partnering with
Paterson Habitat comes from the tangible results
at the end of a Habitat Build Day.

What is Corporate Challenge?
Once a year for the past 17 years, Paterson
Habitat for Humanity holds a two-week event
where corporations from all over the tri-state area
send volunteers to our worksites to build. This is
the only time of year that Habitat raises funds
from construction volunteers.
Last year over 30 companies sent more than 500
of their employees and accepted the Corporate
Challenge—and raised $190,000
Corporate Challenge is based on a simple
concept. Teams of employees work a half day
shifts during the two-week* fundraiser. At
lunch (provided by Habitat), volunteers, incoming
families and Habitat staff share their stories. This
has proven to be a wonderful team-building
experience for participating businesses. Every
year, Corporate Challenge is oversubscribed.
100% of funds raised by this event go toward
building a Habitat house.
*Due to an overwhelming response Corporate
Challenge 2011 will be a three-week event.
