Residence Life Holiday Door Decorating Contest

Show your holiday spirit by decorating your room door during the holiday season for
a chance to win great prizes from the UNCP Bookstore.
You must officially enter the contest by completing an entry form and submitting it to
the Office of Housing and Residence Life located in Suite 207 in the UC Annex by
Tuesday, November 29th at 5pm. Forms will be available in the Office of Housing
& Residence Life, all Residence Halls, Village Apartments, and on the “UNCP Housing
& Residence Life” Facebook page.

This contest is meant to demonstrate holiday spirit and cheer, not financial
resources. If you wish to purchase materials for the contest, there is a limit of
$20 per entry.
Be creative, but be careful. Don’t cause fire hazards. Any entry found to be a
fire hazard will be disqualified. Entries must be is good taste.
Decorations must be temporary additions. Permanent changes, including
holes in the door and painting walls and other surfaces, are not permitted.

JUDGING:
All doors must be decorated by November 29th. Contest judging will take
place between November 30-December 2nd. A scheduled day and time will be
announced after entries have been received. Based on the number of participants, it
may not be possible to requests specific times for judging.
Scoring criteria and maximum number of points possible in each category:
Originality and use of theme - 50 points
Creativity of Design - 50 points
Overall Attractiveness and Appeal - 50 points
1st Place
2nd Place
3rd Place

PRIZES:
$50 Bookstore Gift Certificate
Choice of a Hoodie
Choice of a Tee Shirt or Hat

One prize per roommate will be awarded for double occupancy rooms where both roommates have
assisted with door decorations.
