BREAKING: Bill Clinton Slated to Headline
Michigan Democratic Party’s 2014
Sunday, March 23, 2014, 5:00 p.m.
Former President Bill Clinton is slated to headline the Michigan Democratic Party’s 2014
Jefferson-Jackson Dinner, well-placed Democratic sources told Inside Michigan Politics today.
The annual fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, at Cobo Hall in Detroit.
Clinton, who won Michigan twice in 1992 and 1996, was active in the state during the 2012
election, endorsing ballot proposals supporting renewable energy and collective bargaining.
Last year’s Jeff-Jack dinner featuring Vice President Joe Biden had more than 1,100 attendees.

elected MDP chair in 2013. Johnson’s wife, Julianna Smoot, was a top fundraiser for President
Democrats are facing increasingly tough odds nationally this election cycle, as Charlie Cook and
other analysts have noted parallels with the GOP’s watershed year in 2010. Michigan Democrats
are hoping the Clinton get shows that Michigan is fertile ground for their party for the
governor’s, U.S. Senate and three congressional races (the 1st, 7th and 11th).
