STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM
APPLICATION 2014-2015
REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENT LEADERSHIP TEAM (SLT):







Support the mission of Newnan UTH by creating an atmosphere where members and visitors to UTH have an opportunity
to feel they belong, to grow in their relationship with Christ and to become the disciples God is calling us to be.
Maintain a positive reputation as a representative of UTH
Maintain a “B” average in school (with no failing grades)
Attendance
o SLT meetings (One Sunday a month from 8-9pm)
o SLT retreat (Jan. 9-10)
o Confirmation Retreat (March 6-7)
o Sunday UTH on a regular basis
Be part of a Small Group

MINISTRY AREAS












Missions
o Assists in planning local, national and international mission efforts
o On the local level, looking for ways our group can serve throughout the year.
o On the national and internation levels, assist in planning mission trips and service projects
Serve
o Create and implement a coordinated greeting for members and guests.
o Show care and concern for present member of UTH by celebrating joys and comforting needs.
o Help foster a welcoming spirit for all visitors to our events.
o Help coordinate student leaders to serve in ministry areas on Sunday nights.
Outreach
o Look for ways to bring people into our group – through events, personal invitation, publicity, etc.
o Help plan and market outreach events: Superbowl Party, Bite Nite, Lock-ins, etc.
o Reach out to those who miss several weeks in a row.
Worship
o Help plan worship times at UTH gatherings
o Create a spirit of worship and encourage that spririt among the group as a whole
o Lead times of prayer, read scriptures, etc. during UTH Gatherings
o Assist in setup and take down at meetings and events
o Lead announcements and prayer times
Recreation
o Help plan group games for UTH and encourage participation
o Recruit and organize teams and players for outside sporting groups (Basketball & Ultimate)
o Serve as liaisons with adult leaders about upcoming sports and recreation events in the community and schools.
Community
o Assist in the overall atmosphere of UTH, creating a welcoming atmosphere
o Assist in connecting people to others and dispelling cliques and gossip
o Help plan events to build community for Middle School, High School and Combined
o Spearhead social media avenues.

TEAM STRUCTURE (There will be openings for 20 Students)




Adult Leaders
o There will be an adult leader in each area to give direction and oversight to the students involved.
Council Members
o A specified Student Leader from each ministry area.
Team Members
o Two students to work alongside the adult and council member in each area (Four in the Community Area).
