Everwise and NeXXt Scholars
Welcome to Everwise, the online mentor-mentee matching partner of the New York Academy of
Sciences. Using Everwise is a simple process that will be very self-explanatory. Below are some quick
guidelines to help you get acclimated to the platform, and get the most of this experience.
Signing up:
Use the link that your program coordinator has sent via email. If you lose the link, please request it be
sent again-it’s a special link created for each pool of users!
You can sign up for an account with any email address, but if you are a student, it is recommended that
you use a non-edu email address for this account.
User Profile:
You will be asked a series of questions about yourself to complete your profile. The first section will be
your contact information-please be sure to fill out all sections completely.
For your profile, it’s important to be as honest and clear as you can. This profile will help Everwise
determine your best match, so please be sure to fill in all content areas thoroughly!
Your match will also be able to see some of the content on your profile once the match has been
confirmed. This information will let you both become familiar with your matches before interacting.
Next Steps:
Once your profile is complete and you have submitted it, Everwise will work to create the strongest
matches possible between available Scholars and Fellows. You will be notified by Everwise once a match
has been made, and then this will be confirmed by your program coordinators. Be patient-it is not an
automatic decision! It may take a few days to complete the matching process.
Once you have a match and they are confirmed, you are now in a Fellow/Scholar partnership!
Congratulations! Everwise will help facilitate your first communications through their scheduling
feature. Take advantage of this and start setting up calls, emails, phone calls, etc. with your new match.
Everwise will also reach out to you during various check-in points throughout your academic year. Look
out for these emails and complete the surveys as requested.
Of course, your program coordinators are always available to you if any questions or issues come up
throughout your mentorship!
