ORDER OF ASCLEPIUS CELEBRATES
ANNUAL TURNOVER CEREMONY

The Order of Asclepius of the West
Visayas State University – College of
Medicine held its annual turn-over
ceremony at the Emilion Function
Center, February 28, 2015. The said
event welcomes the newly elected
officers for SY 2015-2016.
With the theme Back in the 80’s,
the night long event showcased bright
colored outfits, funky accessories, over
-the-top hairdos and the ever nostalgic
music of one of the most memorable
decade in the recent past.
Dr. Felice Garingalao-Molina of
Batch 12, the one of the internal
advisers of the organization gave the
opening remarks. In her message, she
described how the organization has
evolved as a catalyst of positive
change not only in the academe but
also in the community. Furthermore,
members to embody Frater, Medica
and Servia which are the guiding
pillars of the organization. This was
followed by a tribute video to the
members of Batch 36.
The event proper commenced
with the outgoing officers passing
over their duties and responsibilities
to their predecessors: Grand Lady
Asclepian (GLA) Angeli Nicole Portigo to Aljeirou Alcachupas, Senior
Lady Asclepian (SLA) Denise Patricia
Granada to Jeffrey Millan Jr., Master
Chest & Scroll Keeper (MCSK) to
Stephanie Grace Lucero; Master Herald (MH) Frenzy Otico to Katherine
Fabros, and Lady Chronicler (LC)
Nadine Sameon to John Ramel Rafael.
Tokens were also handed over to
members of Batch 36 as a sign of
appreciation for all their endeavors as
well as support for their forthcoming
clinical clerkship. Dr. Suzanne Lucero
of Batch 4 and the adviser of Batch 37
gave the closing remarks.
Aside from the members of 36, 37,
and 38, the event was also graced by
other members, namely: Mr. Wilkinson
Gacayan of Batch 35, Ms. Beatrix Grace
Oserraos-Demakiling of Batch 34, Dr.
Louvelle Thess Sorolla and Dr. Danica
Bernasol of Batch 32, and Dr. John
Philip Dolorfino of Batch 30.
The Order of Asclepius through the
Order in Action: Video for Health Skills
(OA-VHS) project has recently been
named as one of the national finalists
Accomplished Youth Organizations
(TAYO) and has received the Most
Innovative Project award given by
