Note – Important.
This is meant to be a guide for students and parents of MEA Piano Studio, so it
contains only information that is relevant to students. For a thorough and
complete guide, please refer to your Guild handbook.
Levels Included
This document has all of the level requirements for the Guild Auditions for
Elementary A through Preparatory B.
Basic Skills
Officially known as the Irreducible Minimum Musicianship Tests, or IMMT,
students of the studio known these requirements as Basic Skills. These
requirements are the minimum technique students need to do in order to
participate in the Guild Auditions. The basic skills consist of scales and
cadences, done in the key of each piece.
For example:
If a student plays a piece in the Key of C Major, then the basic skills required
are a C scale and a C cadence.
