Drop Pole CCTV Brackets – a need for reliable stability
TFL had major expansion plans for Kings Cross and Paddington train stations in
Central London. They needed a new ‘drop pole’ CCTV brackets designed and
prototyped for strategic installation at key points at both stations.
A low-cost, practical design solution
CADmate had worked with design partners to produce a simple, low-cost
practical solution. A 3D CAD model was produced and a structural simulated
analysis (FEA) was conducted to highlight any weaknesses in the design along
with opportunities for cost saving. Several variations of the initial design were
identified and an optimum design was achieved to the satisfaction of TFL and
its stringent regulations.
