Teabuyer’s  Tour,  Taiwan  and  Japan  2015  

Early  morning  tea  harvesting    

The  best  teas  grow  on  beautiful,  remote  mountain  
regions  that  few  have  access  to.  Follow  the  
teabuyers    of  Teance  this  Fall  in  a  rare  opportunity  to  
journey  together  into  the  high  mountains  of  Taiwan  
to    experience  teas  at  their  source.    Witness  teas  
freshly  harvested  and  produced,  taste  them  steeped  
by  their  own  local  waters,  and  understand  firsthand  
the  vast  culture  of  tea!    Be  prepared  for  a  culinary  
experience  in  not  only  tea,  but  also  all  of  the  unique  
local  food  cultures  and  produce  on  this  island.  Visit  
the  cultural  capital  of  Kyoto,  Japan,  and  learn  about  
the  unique  agricultural  and  ceremonial  aspects  of  
Japanese  leaf  and  matcha  teas.

local  meals,  chartered  transportation  to  farms  and  
visits  with  farmers,  experts,  and  museums.

Cabin  stay  at  base  of  San  Lin  She

Leave  Taichung  
Visit  Bamboo  District/Shinjhu  
Visit  Pottery  District  tour  of  teaware  artisans  and  shops  in  
Yingge  
Evening:  Departure  from  Taipei    Taoyuan  Airport  
Continuing  to  Japan  
Oct  21  evening  arrival  to  Osaka/Kyoto  

Wenshan,  Taipei  for  Baochong  Oolongs:  Harvesting  

Oct  22:  visit  Uji  Tea  Farms,  Ujitawara.  Evening  walk/stroll  
through  Gion,  Pontocho,  Teramachi  

Jia  Long  Oolong  

Oct  23:  visit  matcha  production,  partake  in  Tea  Ceremony.  

Maokong  teashops  on  top  of  Taipei  City  

Oct  24:  visit  temples  (Ryo-­‐anji,  Kinkakuji,  etc).  Enjoy  kaiseki  
meals.
