Scéim Céatadán don Ealaín
Percent for Arts Scheme
Anuraidh chuir Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath coiste le chéile le ealaíontóir a choimisiúnú chun píosa ealaíne
a fhorbairt don scoil faoin scéim Céatadán don Ealaín. Is é Sam Keogh a roghnaíodh. Tá sé ag úsáid
ealaín na bpáistí (R1-6) chun brat urláir buan don fhorhalla a dhearadh. Beidh ealaín na bpáistí bunaithe
ar an bhfo-thalamh; ábhair is ainmhithe a shamhlófá faoin talamh. Beidh an t-urlár ar nós grianghraf den
chré le híomhánna digiteacha d’ealaín na bpáistí fite fuaite tríd. Leis seo thall gheobhaidh tú dréacht den
urlár atá curtha le chéile ag Sam. Tá sé ar intinn aige an t-urlár nua seo a chur isteach le linn saoire na
Cásca.
Last year Gaelscoil na gCloch Liath established a committee to commission an artist to develop a piece
of art for the school under the Percent for Arts Scheme. This committee chose artist Sam Keogh to
undertake the scheme for us. He is working on a permanent floor art work for the foyer of the school.
The floor will be a photographic image of soil, incorporating scanned drawings and photographs of
objects, animals and materials commonly found underground. Drawings produced by the children (first
to sixth class) will be digitally assembled by the artist into the final work. Overleaf you can view a draft
of the floor covering being prepared by Sam. He intends installing this new floor over the Easter
holidays.
