Gaia Project Recife

Gaia is a project that shows the children the importance of preserving the environment
and recycling while having contact with people of different cultures and perspectives. In
Recife we have different environments and lots of fauna/flora around the city and outside
that need to be taken care of.
We believe that by educating the children on environmental issues, we’ll be able to
reduce greatly the amount of damage taken by the environment in our city and creating
a more sustainable city for the future.
To have a successful project, you can follow the 4 Rs of Environmental
Protection:
- Rethinking: Make them aware of the processes of environmental education,
reflecting on our actions, which impacts and how you can change that reality thinking at
best. In a second step, the end of the project is extremely important to rethink the
whole exercised practice, causing the participant internalize everything learned and
how the role of his continuation will provide a great benefit to their environment;
- Reduce: Make possible sustainable consumption, make them understand the
economy and relevance of each wild action;
- Reuse: Reuse the most of the resources in the same way or another, using creativity
to the effectiveness;
- Recycle: Turn what would theoretically no longer useful into something relevant.

What we expect from you:
1- Prepare and develop the 4-week period of specific material for each of the stages of
the project thinking about its excellence;
2- Provide support to the local administrator, prioritizing the proper development of the
operational plan;
3 - Participate in the IPSO before arrival to Brazil, IPS in the first week and specific

Activities Performed;
5 - Act with commitment, ethical and pro-activity in all actions performed.
6- Participate of the activities planned by the LC and/ or the NGO during the internship.
