2016 Featured Speakers
David Hornbrook D.D.S. –
”Creativity with Ceramics”
Today’s ceramic systems are no longer
limited by strength, marginal integrity,
or necessary destruction of tooth
structure. The new metal-free systems
are more durable, more aesthetic, more
bondable more conservative and have better wear
compatibility than metal restorations. This presentation
will cover what’s available, when to use what, how to
increase predictability, effective lab communication,
reducing remakes, and a thorough understanding of
the cementation systems that will optimize results.
Jack Krauser D.M.D.
Steven Feit D.M.D. –
”Biomechanical
Occlusal Dentistry
Applied to All on
Implant Rehabilitation”
Success is dependent
upon implementing and executing the fundamentals in
the best possible manner. There needs to be a system
of how to approach any case and break it down from
complex to simple components. This system leads to
an accurate diagnosis and a biomechanically correct
basis for treatment plan formulation. This course will
demonstrate these steps and explain how to apply this
system to any case, but more specifically to the all on
implant styled case.
Howard S. Glazer D.D.S. –
”I Have It...You Need It!”
This is a program about real dentistry
for real people by a real dentist! See a
potpourri of materials and techniques
that will make your day at the office
easier, more productive and fun!
Topics include Composites, Adhesives,
Whitening, Oral Cancer Prevention, Minimally Invasive
Materials & Techniques, Impression and Provisional
Materials, Rotary Cutting Instruments, Lasers, Matrix
Bands, Curing Lights, Artificial Dentine, Patient
Communication Tools, Endodontic Instruments,
Thermoplastics and Cements.

John Chao D.D.S. – ”Pinhole
Surgical Technique: A Revolutionary
Way to Treat Gingival Recession”
There has been the need for a simpler
way to treat gingival recession without
extensive flap surgery. Using this new
technique, a pinhole is made by a
needle and the tissue is loosened and shifted down.
The procedure is minimally invasive; with no open
wounds. With nearby blood supply and collagen, it
is difficult to tell anything was done by the following
day. Learn about this revolutionary way to treat
gingival recession from this highly sought after
speaker.
Jeff Shapiro D.M.D. –”Effective
Integration of Digital Workflow
into Clinical Practice”
The inclusion of digital technology
in practice is providing better clinical
outcomes both for the patient and
for the practitioner. Digitally enabled
workflow is offering dentists the opportunity to
experience their profession in new ways by providing
a more sophisticated, predictable approach to
treatment planning. This course will outline 2-D and
3-D technologies available to enable digital workflow,
how to integrate them into your practice and how to
combine them into producing a virtual digital patient.
Robert Ritter D.M.D. – “The 3D’s
of Dentistry- Recommendation
Marketing, Digital Dentistry and
Clinical Success in the Everyday
Practice”
Dentistry is moving quickly in
implementation of the newest
technologies available. Successful dentistry requires
an integrated approach that looks at diagnosis and
treatment planning as well as smile design, and
single unit dentistry. An online presence including
web site presence, social media and digital
communication is vital. This fast paced, interactive
and informative presentation will cover digital
design and communication, digital planning and
work flow, and digital marketing.

2016 Hands-On Workshops
R-1 John Comisi D.D.S. – ”The Reservoir
Restorative Revolution: Bioactivity and its Place
in Dentistry”
For years the dental profession has been
struggling with providing effective long-term
preventive and direct restorative solutions for our patients.
The evidence is mounting that we may have been “barking
up the wrong tree” in our efforts. There have been many
“bioactive” materials introduced, and there is a real need for
the dental care provider to understand why and how to use
these materials, and why they are important in patient care
now and in the future.
R-2 Thomas Dudney D.M.D.,
Elliot Mechanic D.D.S.,
Brita Nadeau D.D.S. –
”Interdisciplinary Treatment
Planning”
The restorative dentist serves as the quarterback when
establishing a comprehensive dental treatment plan.
Spectacular esthetic results can be achieved by allowing
the patient’s face to dictate the treatment. This interactive
workshop will allow participants to be involved in a study
club like atmosphere. Topics include facially generated
treatment planning, orthodontic case setup, patient and team
member communication skills, altering tissue levels, implants,
temporization and cutting treatment time from years
to months.
R-3 Scott Ganz D.M.D. – ”Improving Dental
Implant Diagnosis and Treatment Planning
Through Optical Scanning, CBCT, and 3D
Printing: New Paradigms for Today’s Digital
Workflow”
Digital technologies have greatly impacted the clinician’s
ability to diagnosis, treatment plan, and execute treatment
for our dental implant patients. The use of 3-D imaging and
interactive treatment planning software provides the initial
foundation for proper diagnosis. Intraoral or desktop optical
scanners can help define with great accuracy the desired
surgical, restorative, and aesthetic outcome. This workshop
will help clinicians to understand the state-of-the-art concepts
of today’s digital workflow.
R-4 Joe Passaro D.D.S.,
Joe Woodell D.D.S. – ”Treatment
Planning Comprehensive
Interdisciplinary Dentistry Using a
Customized PowerPoint Template
and Photographs”
The Systematic Treatment Evaluation Protocol (STEP) protocol
allows the desired two-dimensional position of a patient’s
teeth to be determined using a customized PowerPoint
template. This template is useful for the doctor to make
decisions and communicate with the patient, the dental
laboratory and the interdisciplinary team. Each participant will
receive a STEP template with an Idealized Dentofacial Esthetic
Analysis (IDEA) for their own use. A PC with PowerPoint 2010
or Mac with PowerPoint is required.

F-1 Fay Goldstep D.D.S. – ”Regenerate,
Bioactivate: Treating Patients in the 21st Century”
Today’s dental materials and technology can
predictably regenerate and remineralize lost oral
structures. Bioactive, minimally invasive dentistry is
the proactive way to treat patients. Decay is detected, mapped
and treated with bioactive materials that reduce restorative
failure: glass ionomer cements, giomers, MTA, calcium
aluminate hybrid cements. Diagnosis and treatment evaluation
of periodontal disease includes genetics and inflammatory
biomarkers. Lasers and other non invasive therapies can repair
and heal.
F-2 David Little D.D.S. – ”Implant Dentistry...
Enhancing Restorative Outcomes Using the Latest
Technology”
Patients are better informed about the choices
available for replacing missing teeth and are more
aware of the role that implant dentistry can have on enhancing
the quality of their lives. Whether replacing a single tooth
or an entire edentulous arch, technologies such as CBCT,
planning software, and CAD-CAM allow us to virtually develop
a restorative driven treatment plan that produces predictable
results. Learn about the latest advances and practice techniques
for implant placement and restoration.
S-1 Damon Adams D.D.S. – ”Trends, Innovations,
Controversies, and Clinical Tips”
New materials and technologies are reshaping the
way in which we offer care to our patients, yet it
is often difficult to know which to implement. A
variety of clinical tips designed to assist the dentist and team in
choosing the latest lab-fabricated all-ceramic dental materials
and treatment protocols will be demonstrated. This engaging
hands-on presentation will focus on current trends, controversies,
and innovations.
S-2 George Freedman D.D.S. – ”Simplified Single
Tooth Replacement: Stress-Free, Cement-Free
Implant Restorations”
Dental implant restoration can be predictable and
profitable. Patient awareness and acceptance of
implant treatment has grown tremendously. Unfortunately,
the process and the cost of restoring the implant to esthetic
function and form are confusing and costly. Learn a simplified
step-by-step system for straightforward and hassle-free implant
restorative treatment: diagnosis, surgical referral, post-surgical
implant restoration, trouble-shooting and problem solving.
S-3 Jack Griffin Jr. D.M.D. – ”Let’s Grow Teeth…
Excellent Clinical Dentistry using Bioactive/
Regenerative Materials”
Have you ever had a patient say that tooth was never
a problem until you fixed it? This course deals with
the elimination of sensitivity while providing an environment
where tissues can heal. With newer regenerative/bioactive
materials we can stimulate dentin healing and self-repair in our
direct and indirect restorations while reducing sensitivity. Learn
how and when to place these materials which promote oral
health by decreasing plaque, reducing bacterial accumulation, or
promoting regeneration of tissues.
