Armageddon begins/ends

“The Time Of the End’, its
commencement AD 1799.”

Thy Kingdom Come p.23

The year AD 1878 being the parallel of his
assuming power and authority in the type,
clearly marks the time for the actual assuming
of power as King of kings.”

“...the battle of the great day of God Almighty
which will end in AD 1914 with the complete
overthrow of earth’s present rulership”

“Jehovah’s witnesses pointed to the year 1914,
decades in advance, as marking the start of
‘the conclusion of the system of things’.”

“Similarly, a prophecy providentially caused sincere
19th-century Bible students to be in expectation.
By linking the “seven times” of Daniel 4:25 with
“the times of the Gentiles,” they anticipated that
Christ would receive Kingdom power in 1914.”

The Time is At Hand (1878, 1911 ed) p.101

Charles Russell consistently stated that the Last Days began in 1799 and Christ’s Rule began in
1878. He believed 1914 would bring Armageddon and “the overthrow of earth’s present rulership”. In
contrast, the modern-day Watchtower claims Russell was expecting both the Last Days and Christ’s
Rule to occur in 1914. In all honesty, have you as a Jehovah’s Witness ever read an actual article
written by Russell that proves the Watchtower’s 1914 claims?
