Volunteer Position Description
Seekhaven’s Mission Statement: To build safe and healthy communities by providing shelter
and resources to families in crisis and victims of violence and offering preventative education for
youth and community members.
The MATCH Program’s Mission Statement: To provide an additional layer of support,
encouragement, and empowerment for survivors of domestic abuse or sexual assault through
uplifting 1:1 connections.
Key Responsibilities:
A MATCH Program Ally needs to be a understanding, caring, and committed volunteer that will
meet with the paired MATCH partner on a regular basis.
Consistently set and follow through on meet-up times with your MATCH partner
Check-in with the Seekhaven Volunteer Coordinator at least once a month to review how
the MATCH partnership is going
Abide by Seekhaven’s confidentiality agreement at all times
Time Commitment:
Four hours per month for at least one year. Once you are connected with a MATCH partner, this
time will be scheduled between the two of you depending on each other’s availability.
Desired Attributes: Ability to empathize and listen supportively to another’s experiences. Strong
communication skills, open-mindedness, and dependability. Enthusiasm about learning, having
fun, and meeting new people. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
