Volume I - Design Criteria
1. Introduction
The Structural Design Criteria document has been prepared to inform the Owner, Architect, and
Engineers to the assumptions made by Speed House Steel Industries (SHSI) in the preparation of the
structural design for the above mentioned project. This entails the listing of relevant design standards,
design loadings, material technical specifications and the like.
Light Gauge Steel (LGS) system is being used in the design of the Structure. LGS system has section
profiles rolled from a thickness of 0.55mm ~ 1.55mm as required to suit the Frame CAD Structure program
All the designs are calculated using specified programs provided by the machine manufacturer who
guarantees the design requirements to suit the building layout and the anticipated design life of the building.
Modified hand calculation spreadsheets are also available for design checking.
