2016 VOTING INTEGRITY PETITION (WIP)
PETITION LANGUAGE
The 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, often referred to as the Voting Rights
Act, assures not only equal access to voting in our democracy, but that the Federal
Government and Congress will enforce and protect voting fairness in our elections.
Recent evidence shows that the actions of a Foreign Government to create discord in
America’s democratic institutions (through the release of stolen information and the
dissemination of false information) to accomplish a specific political outcome, proves
that the most basic and essential foundation in order to have a democratic election, the
access to fair and unbiased information, did not exist during the 2016 Presidential
Election. Moreover, the very agencies responsible in protecting the voting rights of all
Americans and their access to a fair and democratic election were negligent in their
duties and irreparably affected the will of the people by not allowing them to vote in a
fully-informed manner.
We, the undersigned Americans, call for the immediate suspension of the 2016 election
results.
We demand to know:
1) Why federal agencies and departments (such as, but not limited to, Homeland
Security, the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the Office of the Attorney General and the
Office of the President) tasked with protecting the civil rights of all American
citizens, failed to protect Americans against an unprecedented and concerted
cyberterrorism campaign spearheaded by the Russian government and its
affiliated actors to sow discord and disinformation throughout the U.S.
Presidential election.
2) Why, when having clear evidence on the gravity and scope of this ahistorical
attack on American democracy, these same agencies did not immediately
inform the American public about the situation, so that all potential voters had
full knowledge of this aggression, coordinated on an industrial scale, against the
most sacred institution of a true democracy, a fair election, before voting was
allowed to take place on Nov. 8, 2016.
No elected official or administration appointment affected by the 2016 Election should
be allowed to take office until the integrity of this election can be proven. If that cannot
be done, America must be allowed to vote again, this time with all civil voting rights of
all Americans intact and actively safeguarded by the United States Government.
