Stuff Niffler as much as possible and break
yarn, but don’t sew up the top yet.
Beak:
Switch to yellow.
Determine where you want to put the beak,
and pick up 12 stitches straight across the face
for the bottom of the beak. Then pick up three
stitches above that on either end, then two
above, then two higher in the middle (to create
the triangle nose part). That is, if the image
below were the grad that is the face stitches,
you would pick up the darker stitches:

Divide top and bottom stitches on two
needles, stuff the beak, and join with
kitchener’s stitch. Then take the long tail and
stitch around the edge of the beak to help
define it, and add two stitches for nostrils if
you like.
Pouch:
With gray again, pick up 14 stitches across the
bottom of the belly. Work back and forth in
stockinet across the belly, picking up a stitch
and purling or knitting two together to join
them, or else working the flap for the desired
length and then stitching the sides to the body.
I worked mine for about an inch and a half.
Arms & Legs:
With gray, co 25 across three needles
Knit 10 rounds
K1 *K2tog* all the way around.
Cut yarn and draw through remaining stitches.
Stuff lightly and attach to body. If you really
want, you can try making yellow paws by
making the last two or three rows, including
the decreases yellow. Make four and attach to
the body.
Tail:
With gray, pick up 14 base stitches, and 7
stitches each for the other two needles to make
a triangle, like you did the nose:

Knit 3 rounds even.
*K1, k2tog, k6, ssk, k1* twice.
Knit 1 round.
*K1, k2tog, k4, ssk, k1* twice.
Knit 2 rounds,

Knit 10 rows.
*K1, k2tog, k8, ssk, k1* twice.
Knit 3 rows.
*K1, k2tog, k6, ssk, k1* twice.
Stuff lightly and close with kitchener’s stitch
And there you have it! Enjoy your niffler!
