Dear Mrs. Peters:
My project focuses on graphic design, with my mentor is teaching me the fundamentals of
design. I chose this project because I enjoy drawing and using programs that allow me to
manipulate photos, create similar designs seen today and express myself.
My research paper will be on the fundamentals of design and how they affect the world today.
Including how people are fooled into buying faulty products everyday because of the
“aesthetics” or how branding affects us on a psychological level or influences everyday
decisions.
My mentor at the Brown Mackie College facility has had me work with several Adobe programs.
My mentor also taught me how to implement the laws of design and what the fundamentals of
design are, allowing me to be able to create my own logos and products utilizing these
programs. This will force me to learn new ways to utilize the new found fundamentals of design
and implement them in the challenges presented to me.
I understand that plagiarism is something not to be considered lightly and it greatly affects the
graphic design world, having artists and designers in a constant struggle. I promise not to
plagiarize during my project and will continue to cite my sources, realizing that not doing so will
not allow me to graduate.
