The Monster Show 2017
A Call for Artwork Submission
The Maple Grove Arts Center opens the gallery to all artists to submit their
artwork that showcases ghouls, goblins and things the go bump in the night!
Entries must be original work created solely by the artist in the last 5 years and not previously exhibited at
Maple Grove Art Center (MGAC). Both 2D and 3D artwork will be allowed.
NOTE: All artwork in this show must incorporate monsters, ghosts, darkness and other scary
images or ideas. If eligibility questions arise, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Media, Conditions & Exclusions:
Recent paintings, drawings, fibers, batik, hand pulled prints, sculpture and photography
*Photography that is digitally enhanced is allowed if clearly marked as such.
Artwork must be original. Paintings must be dry. Drawings, prints, watercolors, fibers, batik must
be under glass. All two-dimensional work must have wire for hanging.
All excepted entries must remain on exhibit for the duration of the show:
September 18 - October 31
Every precaution will be taken in handling artwork, but no responsibility is assumed by MGAC for loss
or damage of any kind. Maple Grove Art Center cannot be responsible for loss or damage. Submission of
these works indicates acceptance of these conditions. Artists who desire to insure their work must make
their own arrangements.
No copies, class-work, food-items, hazardous materials or fragile work can be accepted.
Submission of work:
Registration form and procedures attached. Artwork, entry form, fee and release must be delivered to
MGAC at time of submission.
Payment is made to the Maple Grove Arts Center. Center requires a 25% member/ 40% non-member
commission on all sales resulting from this show. Artists are responsible for all related sales tax.
Delivery of artwork:
Thursday, August 31, 11 am to 7 pm
Saturday, September 2, 11 am to 2 pm
Pick up of artwork:
Thursday, November 2, 5 pm to 7 pm
Saturday, November 4, 11 am to 2 pm
NOTE: All work must be dropped by before September 2nd & picked-up/arrangements made to be
picked up before November 4th.
Exhibition is free and open to the public during regular center hours and during center scheduled
activities. Group and special appointments can be arranged by email request.
Deadline is Saturday, September 2, 2017. Completed application may be handed in at time of entry or
emailed prior to drop off. Please complete in its entirety. Titles should also be marked on the actual item,
to max tags with artwork during installation. Masking tape labels, post its and duplicates of below title
cards, cut out and attached are some options used by other artists to discern pieces from one another.
