The roof’s defective single-ply membrane was
allowing water to enter the building at the joins,
which is a common issue with this material.
The Elastaseal Warm Roof system was specified
to safeguard the building against all weathers and
significantly reduce heat loss through the roof. Its
base vapour control layer prevents warm moist air
from entering the structure. Tortherm insulation tiles
then keep heat inside the building and the glass
fibre-reinforced Elastaseal liquid roof coating system
keeps water out.

Unlike ordinary roofing materials requiring cutting
and jointing, the Elastaseal liquid roofing system
seamlessly waterproofs every last detail of the roof.
Highly elastomeric, it is formulated to withstand
the natural movements of the building. It does not
require risk-laden hot works during its application,
meaning buildings can remain operational during
installation. Systems can be specified with or without
insulation with performance options up to 30 years
before first major maintenance.
