Exit 23 Bridge Construction – Summer 2017
Beginning in the second week of June, major construction at
Exit 23 (Shartlesville) off Interstate-78 will start on the bridge.
This project is expected to continue through mid-August, with
complete closure of the bridge lasting approximately 40 days
(beginning July 10th).
In anticipation of this construction, we wanted to offer
alternative routes to Roadside America. We are located right
off of Old Route 22, just outside of Shartlesvile, PA. If you are
planning your trip to Roadside America between mid-June and
mid-August, we recommend using one of the below alternate
routes.

Coming from Harrisburg:
Take Exit 19 (Strausstown) off of I-78, and turn right onto PA-183 South. Drive 0.3
miles, and turn left at the blinker-light onto Old U.S. 22. Drive for 3.4 miles, and our
South entrance will be on your left.
Coming from Allentown:
Take Exit 30 (Hamburg) off of I-78, and turn left onto North 4th Street. Drive 0.5
miles, and turn right onto Old U.S. 22 (State Street). Drive for 8.2 miles, then veer
right onto Roadside Drive; you’ll see a large billboard sign with an arrow pointing
right. We are at the end of Roadside Drive.
Coming from Reading:
PA-183 Option: Take the PA-183 Exit (Bernville Road/Strausstown) off of US-222;
keep left and turn onto PA-183 North. Drive for about 14.4 miles (follow signs for PA183 North), then turn right at the blinker-light onto Old U.S. 22. Drive for 3.4 miles,
and our South entrance will be on your left.
PA-61 Option: Take the PA-61 North Exit (Pottsville) off of US-222; follow signs for
PA-61 North. Continue on PA-61 North for 4.6 miles, then turn left at the traffic light
onto Mohrsville Road. Drive for 0.7 miles, then turn left onto Main Street; continue
for 2.5 miles. Turn left at the 4-way intersection onto Shartlesville Road; continue for
5.1 miles. Turn left onto Old U.S. 22, and drive 1.6 miles; veer right onto Roadside
Drive (you’ll see a large billboard sign with an arrow pointing right). We are at the
end of Roadside Drive.
Coming from Pottsville:
PA-183 Option: Take PA-61 South toward Cressona. Keep right at the Cressona Mall
to continue onto PA-183 South (Pottsville Street); drive for 0.7 miles. Turn left at the
traffic light onto PA-183 South (South Sillyman Street); continue for about 12 miles.
Turn left onto Old U.S. 22 at the blinker-light; drive for 3.4 miles, and our South
entrance will be on your left.
PA-61 Option: Take PA-61 South toward Hamburg; continue through Port Clinton. At
the second traffic light, turn left onto Jetson Drive; drive 0.1 miles, then turn right
onto Industrial Drive. Continue for 1.1 miles, then turn right at the traffic light onto
Old U.S. 22 (W. State Street). Drive for 7.7 miles, then veer right onto Roadside Drive;
you’ll see a large billboard sign with an arrow pointing right. We are at the end of
Roadside Drive.
