Receive God's Protection - Put on Christ
INTRODUCTION
How would you like to be a place where your very presence changes the atmosphere and keeps
demons at bay or even makes them flee? Well others and myself believe this is possible. In my
own life, I got to a place where I had enough of trying to fend off the demons and I felt I had to
learn how to walk in a place where I knew God shielded and protected me.
THE EVIDENCE
As I began to pursue God about this, He began to show me the overwhelming evidence for this.
For one, scripture confirms it... In Luke 10:19, Jesus said, "Nothing shall by any means harm
you." Nothing! Isaiah 54:17 says, "No weapon formed against us shall prosper." None! Psalm
34:7 says, "The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them."
Psalm 91 tells us that God surrounds us with His angels "least we dash our foot" meaning we are
so well protected by God that we cannot even harm ourselves. In Job, Satan told God that he
could do anything to Job because God had put a hedge of protection around him. Quoting Job
1:10, he says, "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has?"
Proverbs 30:5 and Psalm 84:11 say that God is a shield. The Psalms say God is a refuge and
fortress. A number of metaphors refer to God's protection for his people: He is our Shield,
Fortress, Hiding Place, Keeper, Refuge, Rock, Shade, Shelter, and Stronghold. The evidence is
overwhelming. In Zechariah 2:5, God Himself says, "I, myself, will be a protective wall of fire
around Jerusalem, says the LORD."
If we will truly step into Christ, the enemy will not be able to touch you and will in fact be
repelled by your presence, by the presence of God in you. After all, light repels darkness! 2
Corinthians 6:14: "What fellowship has light with darkness?" 1 John 1:6 says, "We walk in the
Light as He Himself is in the Light." The Bible says, "He is Light and in Him is no darkness at all,"
so if He is light and we are in Him, then...

HOW DO WE ACTIVATE THIS SHIELD?
So, I ask myself, do I really believe God can and will shield me from the enemy or don't I? I am
getting to a place where I know He can. This is how we activate God's protection.
Everything we do is by faith. Romans 14:23, says, "Everything that does not come from FAITH is
sin." We receive every promise of God by faith (Hebrews 6:12). We receive the Spirit by faith
(Galatians 3:14). We walk/live by faith (2 Corinthians 5:7, Galatians 3:11, Habakkuk 2:4). We love
by faith (Galatians 5:6). Faith is so important to God that Hebrews 11:6 says that it is impossible
to please God without it and James 1:6-8 says that we have to have so much faith in Him that
any doubt can keep us from receiving from Him. Hebrews 10:39 says that we displease God "if
we shrink back." Faith is THE key that unlocks the door for everything you want from God.
Without that key, you won't enter into what God wants you to have.
ACTIVATE IT!
So the question boils down to, do I take advantage of this protection and receive it by faith or do
I talk and act like the enemy rules over me and can do anything he wants to me any time he
wants to? If you are ready to believe, spend a few minutes a day for the next 21 days praying the
following prayer or something like (it must resonate with you and be done in faith) and letting
yourself resonate with being clothed in Christ:
Father God, thank You for Christ, and clothing me in Christ! Thank You for the armor of God, the
armor of Light, the armor of righteousness, and the might of Your power! Thank You that You
have weaved Christ over my life as a fine garment! I declare... I have put on Christ (Gal 3:27) and
I am in Christ! I live in Christ and Christ lives in me! (1 John 4:13) In this world, I am like Jesus (1
John 4:17). I have put on the armor of God (Eph 6:10) and the armor of Light! (Romans 13:12)
The Father and I are one (John 10:30), and so, as He is Light, I am Light! (1 John 1:5) There is no
darkness in me at all! By faith, I cast off all darkness! [Act it out.] I have put on the armor of
righteousness (2 Cor 6:7), and I am the righteousness of God in Christ! (2 Cor 5:21) I have put on
the might of God's power and I am strong in the Lord and in His mighty power! (Eph 6:10)
Father God, I delight greatly in You, oh LORD. My soul rejoices in You, my God. For You have
clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a
bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels (Isaiah
61:10). Father God, thank You for clothing me in Christ that You and I are now one, that I am a
spirit reflecting You in the world. Thank You Father for all of this, in the name of Jesus, amen!
