SINGLE-FAMILY RESIDENCE SALES
As the 2nd quarter of 2017 closes we are beginning
to see what we hope will be a continued trend in the
Number of New Listings. The total Number of Listings
added to the Northwest Multiple Listing Service in June,
was the highest total for any single month since May
2008. While this is an encouraging trend, the levels of
inventory each month continues to lag from last year. This
continuing story of lower inventory levels is the result of
a region where far more jobs are being created than new
housing units. Recent U.S. Census Bureau data shows
Seattle is gaining approximately 1,100 residents per week.
This is an astounding number. We will be watching closely
how the combination of new listings and increased prices
dictate our trend moving into 3rd Quarter.
